Nandan is a filmmaker and writer from Kerala, India, born in 1991. He worked as a civil engineer in Bengaluru before moving to Mumbai to follow his passion for filmmaking. There, he began his career in advertising films before going on to work as an assistant director on several major feature films. He is best known for directing the acclaimed films Breath and Dreaming of Words.
As an author, Nandan has published three books: The Dream Balloon, Manam: The Chronicle of a Masturbator, and New Desertlands. He has also contributed to several comic anthologies. His animated feature film project based on The Dream Balloon was a finalist in the Animation Filmmaker’s Competition at the World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit (WAVES) held in 2025.
Nandan’s films have been screened at festivals and academic conferences around the world, earning widespread acclaim. He is the recipient of numerous accolades, including a National Film Award.
